Self-Description:

My work at the Artificial Life Lab comprises simulations and experiments with robotic swarms. I joined the Artificial Life Lab in 2005 as an internship of my study course at the University of Applied Sciences in St. Pölten, Austria. Since then I have co-authored several papers concerning simulations and experiments with swarm robots and also helped to construct, maintain and demonstrate a real robotic swarm. My research focuses on swarming behaviour, distributed sensor networks and communication-less algorithms for small and simple swarm robots. Since 2010 I am developing a communication-less flocking algorithm to be used in autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). This algorithm will be adapted to allow a swarm of AUVs to collectively find the source of weak and irregular underwater gradients (e.g. a toxic waste dump).
